Store Pages Are Now Available Across Every Platform

The October 21 announcement focuses on storefront availability. Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store now all have official routes for their respective versions.

Where full purchasing is not yet available, players can use the relevant page to save the game to their wishlist or favorites ahead of January 14.

Two Different Stories on Jabberwock Island

Danganronpa 2x2 is more than a straightforward rerelease. Original Mode retains the story of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair while updating its visuals and presentation.

Slayhem Mode, known as Kyoki Mode in Japan, uses the same island and familiar characters but changes the victims, culprits, tricks and resulting sequence of cases. Spike Chunsoft says its scenario is equal to or larger than the original in volume.

Class Trials Remain at the Center

The familiar Danganronpa structure remains intact. Players spend Daily Life exploring Jabberwock Island, move into Investigation when a murder occurs, and take the gathered evidence into the Class Trial.

Contradictory statements can be broken with Truth Bullets as players work to identify the Blackened before the trial reaches its conclusion.

Sakutaro Higashi Joins the New Scenario

Slayhem Mode also introduces Sakutaro Higashi, a new student drawn into the Class Trials. His Ultimate talent remains intentionally undisclosed.

Natsuki Hanae voices Sakutaro in Japanese, while Griffin Burns handles the English performance, further separating the new scenario from a simple rearrangement of the original cases.

Why This Matters

1) Players can now choose their platform early

The Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic versions now each have an official storefront path.

2) This is not simply a remaster

Original Mode modernizes the 2012 game, while Slayhem Mode adds a full alternative killing-game scenario.

3) One setting can support two different mysteries

The cast and Jabberwock Island remain recognizable, but the victims, Blackened and case tricks can change completely.

Its biggest draw remains the combination of Original Mode and Slayhem Mode: one modernizes Danganronpa 2, while the other turns the familiar cast and island into a new mystery.
