First Season 2 Trailer and Key Visual

Season 2 Returns Yuuya to the Saint and Evil Conflict

The Season 2 introduction picks up after Yuuya has brought Oma, the legendary Genesis Dragon, and Kuro, the embodiment of Evil hidden within Yuti, onto his side. He has also overcome the Fist Saint.

Yuuya is now training to make his newly acquired Evil power his own. Meanwhile, the influence of Evil continues to increase, and an imperial match between Yuuya and the holder of the Sword Saint title awaits in Regal Kingdom.

Iris Noublade Is the Sword Saint Drawn to Yuuya

Iris Noublade is the strongest swordswoman bearing the title of Sword Saint. Her dedication to the sword has occupied so much of her life that marriage has effectively passed her by.

While searching for a “destined man stronger than herself,” Iris encounters Yuuya in an imperial match and immediately develops feelings for him. She is voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa.

Hasegawa describes Iris as strong, dignified, and cool, while encouraging viewers to watch how her relationship with Yuuya develops through Season 2.

Mai Kagurazaka Comes From the Real World as a Saintess

The other major addition is Mai Kagurazaka, who shares an unusual background with Yuuya and Kaori. She originally comes from the real world and served as a shrine maiden at a Shinto shrine.

Mai is summoned to the other world as the Saintess and possesses a special ability capable of purifying Evil. Sora Amamiya provides her voice.

Amamiya describes Mai as a mysterious girl dressed as a shrine maiden. Despite her prickly attitude, she can also be caring, unexpectedly shy, and rather innocent.

Main Season 2 Staff and Returning Cast

Season 2 is directed by Shin Itagaki, with Hiromi Kimura handling character design. Akiyuki Tateyama and SHIKI provide the music, while Millepensee returns for animation production under planning producer UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS.

Alongside Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yuuya, the currently listed cast includes Akari Kito as Kaori, Kaori Maeda as Lexia, Ai Kakuma as Luna, Rina Hidaka as Yuti, and Marina Inoue as Kuro.

Iseleve Heads to Machi Asobi Vol.31

The October 15 update also confirmed an Iseleve presence at Machi Asobi Vol.31, running in Tokushima on October 17–18.

The Season 2 Special Stage will be held on October 18 from 14:00 to 15:00 at Shinmachibashi Higashi Park Stage. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Kaori Maeda, and Ikumi Hasegawa are scheduled to appear, and admission to the stage is free.

Why This Matters

1) Season 2 finally has a concrete release window

After previously being confirmed only as in production, January 2027 is now the official starting window for both broadcast and streaming.

2) Iris and Mai broaden the Saint-versus-Evil conflict

Neither character is simply an additional face. Iris is directly tied to the Sword Saint and Yuuya's coming duel, while Mai possesses the ability to purify Evil.

3) The first trailer already establishes the next story direction

The new material does more than introduce characters, emphasizing that Yuuya's Evil power and the escalating conflict in the other world will be central to Season 2.
