Takushi Koide Draws a New Red Jacket
The soundtrack jacket uses an intense red background with Lara shown in profile and a single tear falling from her eye.
Rather than reusing an existing anime key visual, director Takushi Koide created the illustration specifically for the soundtrack.
The Japanese “さよならララ” lettering and the English “Goodbye, Lara” title run across Lara's portrait.
Its restrained composition puts the character's expression at the center while retaining the imagery of loss and farewell that surrounds her story.
The Complete Release Contains 42 Tracks
The album divides its complete score between 22 tracks on Disc 1 and 20 tracks on Disc 2.

Six Tracks Are Already Available
A six-track ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK EP was released digitally on July 6, ahead of the complete edition.
Its track list is:
- L A R A (feat. Tatiana Parra)
- voice of the deep
- さよならララ (feat. Tatiana Parra)
- SaYoNaRa (feat. 君島大空)
- さよならララ - Toward the Surface (feat. Tatiana Parra)
- L A R A - Piano (feat. Tatiana Parra)
All six return as part of the full 42-track album.
The EP therefore functions as an early selection of the musical language yuma yamaguchi created for the television series.
Vocal Performers Expand the Score
Not every piece is purely instrumental. Several tracks incorporate guest voices as part of the soundtrack.
Tatiana Parra appears repeatedly across “L A R A,” “さよならララ,” “Toward the Surface,” and the piano version of “L A R A.”
Emily Coulston appears on two “crying out inside” tracks, while 君島大空 is credited on “SaYoNaRa.”
Other pieces credit ラヌ, 北村蕗, 圭菜代, and 榊原香保里, giving the score a wider range of vocal and instrumental textures.
The OST's “Sayonara Lara” Should Not Be Confused with the Opening Single
The official music lineup contains two different uses of the Sayonara Lara name.
The television anime's opening theme is “さよならララ” by Ikimonogakari, written and composed by Yoshiki Mizuno and arranged by Seiji Kameda.
The yuma yamaguchi soundtrack separately contains cues titled “さよならララ (feat. Tatiana Parra),” “さよならララ - Toward the Surface,” and “さよならララ - Piano.”
The official website treats the opening theme and original soundtrack as separate releases. Hana Hope's ending theme, “Hearts Glow,” is likewise released separately.
The 42-track package is therefore primarily the dramatic score created for the series rather than a compilation of its opening and ending singles.
Music for Lara's Second Life
Goodbye, Lara is an original Kinema Citrus television anime following Lara, a mermaid princess whose forbidden love for a human prince ends with her disappearing into sea foam.
Two centuries later, Lara is reborn as a human at Lake Biwa in Shiga and once again sets out in search of true love.
She encounters Mari Otsu, a high-school student and boxer who gives the displaced Lara a place to stay.
yuma yamaguchi provides the score for the series, with KADOKAWA handling music production and Kinema Citrus producing the animation.
Why This Matters
1) The full score finally replaces the six-track preview
The July EP offered only six pieces. September's release expands that selection to 42 tracks across two discs.
2) The jacket is original album artwork
Takushi Koide created new artwork specifically for the soundtrack rather than reusing an existing promotional visual.
3) Water imagery extends into the track names
Tide, undertow, ripple, surface, current, and bubble repeatedly appear across the album.
4) Guest performers broaden its sound
Tatiana Parra has the largest recurring presence, while several other vocalists and musicians appear on selected pieces.
