The C108 Demo Shows Aris in 3D Combat

The latest footage gives a clearer look at Wonder Protocol as a 3D action RPG, with Aris currently serving as the playable character.

The demo shows her exploring a forest environment and directly attacking enemies. Its interface displays HP and SP, character status information, items, a minimap, and the current dungeon floor.

One section is labeled 迷いの森 3F, reinforcing the floor-based exploration structure behind the project's roguelike identity.

Combat, exploration, and character-resource management are already visible in the C108 build. Polycube has not yet published final details for progression, dungeon count, upgrade systems, or the complete structure of a run.

The Demo Was Only Distributed Through C108 Download Cards

Polycube did not make the Comic Market demo an openly downloadable build.

The circle appeared on C108 Day 1, August 15, at East Hall 1, Ko-48b, with Wonder Protocol as one of its featured works.

Access was sold through a dedicated download card. Card owners receive a URL and serial code, which must be authenticated before downloading the trial version.

After the event, Polycube clarified that this C108 build remains event-exclusive and will not be distributed as a public digital demo.

That restriction only applies to this particular trial build. It does not mean development of Wonder Protocol itself has ended.

The Completed Version Is Targeting Summer 2027

After the demo footage attracted players asking where they would eventually be able to get the game, Polycube shared an additional development target.

The circle says it is currently working toward summer 2027 distribution for the completed version.

That remains a target rather than a locked release date, and no specific month or day has been announced.

The distribution platform is also still being considered. Polycube says it will announce the decision through its official account once those plans are settled.

Steam, itch.io, BOOTH, or any other specific storefront should therefore not yet be treated as confirmed.

Aris Is Currently the Playable Member

Wonder Protocol centers on Blue Archive's Game Development Department.

Previous promotional material has introduced 2D artwork for Aris, Midori, Momoi, and Yuzu, while the trailer and C108 build show Aris functioning directly inside the 3D gameplay.

When asked whether the other Game Development Department members would also become playable, Polycube confirmed that they are not playable at present.

The team nevertheless hopes to make that possible later in development.

The existence of character artwork should therefore not be treated as confirmation that the entire department already has playable kits in the current build.

A Game Development Department Adventure in a “Dream” World

Polycube has consistently introduced Wonder Protocol as a Blue Archive fan game × 3D roguelike RPG.

Its promotional premise sends Aris and the Game Development Department into a mysterious “dream” world, moving familiar characters into a dedicated 3D environment built for this fan project.

Rather than simply recreating Blue Archive's original combat, Wonder Protocol is being designed around direct dungeon exploration and roguelike progression.

It remains an unofficial derivative project, not a new Blue Archive title developed or published by NEXON Games or Yostar.

Polycube itself is a creator circle focused heavily on 3DCG, and its development updates have regularly covered character models, animation, map testing, skill motions, illustrations, and other production work.

Why This Matters

1) It takes Blue Archive in a very different gameplay direction

Instead of reproducing the original game's systems, Wonder Protocol places the Game Development Department inside a 3D roguelike RPG with direct exploration and combat.

2) The C108 demo makes the project much easier to understand

The new footage shows the interface, battles, maps, floor structure, and how Aris actually controls inside the 3D environment.

3) The full version now has a development target

Summer 2027 is the first clear distribution target shared by the team, although its final date and platform remain undecided.

4) The playable roster may eventually expand

Aris is the current playable character, while Polycube has already expressed its hope to make the other Game Development Department members playable later.
